Fespa has expanded its global association network with the addition of Asoingraf, the national association representing the graphic arts and printing industry in Costa Rica.

The decision was approved at the 2025 Fespa General Assembly and marks a further strengthening of Fespa’s presence in Central America. Asoingraf was represented at the assembly by its president, Marco Vinicio Vargas Chevez.

Founded in 1987, Asoingraf’s activities include the organisation of Expográfica, the country’s leading trade show for the industry, alongside training programmes, seminars, and awards initiatives. A core focus of the association’s work is supporting print businesses in adopting more sustainable practices and improving operational standards.

By joining Fespa as an Association Member, Asoingraf becomes part of a global network of national printing and graphics associations. The partnership is intended to support greater knowledge exchange across Costa Rica and the wider Central American region, particularly around technical developments, market trends, and best practice. It will also encourage the adoption of recognised international standards covering areas such as process efficiency, colour management, production workflows, and environmental performance.

Commenting on the announcement, Daniel Sunderland, president of Fespa and vice president of Canagraf in Mexico, said: “Welcoming Asoingraf as a Fespa Association Member strengthens our global reach and deepens our representation in Central America. I am excited to seeing how Fespa can support the Costa Rican print community through Asoingraf’s local events and initiatives. By working with Asoingraf, Fespa is able to further share knowledge, drive innovation and strengthen its global community.”

The move continues Fespa’s strategy of building closer links with national associations worldwide, with the aim of supporting the long-term development, competitiveness and sustainability of the global print community.
