Paper maker Lecta has expanded its Garda range with the launch of GardaMatt Ice. The new product is a two-side coated wood-free paper developed for high-quality publishing, editorial, and commercial print applications.
The new grade is positioned at the ultra-white end of the spectrum, with a whiteness level of CIE 130 and a cool tone. According to Lecta, this combination is designed to enhance contrast, improve the accuracy of grey tones and neutral colours, and deliver a clean, modern aesthetic across applications such as magazines, books, catalogues, and corporate communications.
Lecta says the paper offers a consistently smooth surface and well-balanced bulk, alongside an optimised coating and extremely fast ink setting. These characteristics are intended to support reliable runnability, strong printability, and consistent finishing performance, while helping printers maintain efficiency without sacrificing visual quality.
The paper is suitable for a range of printing technologies, including offset, flexo, laser, and dry toner processes, making it adaptable to different production environments and workflows.
From a manufacturing perspective, GardaMatt Ice forms part of Lecta’s wider Garda range, which is produced in line with a number of internationally recognised standards. These include ISO 14001 and EMAS for environmental management, ISO 50001 for energy efficiency, ISO 9001 for quality management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. PEFC and FSC C011032 chain of custody certifications for forest-based materials are also available on request.
