Provider of wide-format digital print and design services ARC UK has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a Zünd G3 3XL-2500 digital cutter.

Ross Snell, head of operations EMEA at ARC Technologies UK, said: “Our business has grown significantly in the large-format sector over the past six years. This investment in the Zünd G3 3XL-2500 cutter supports that growth by allowing us to deliver high-quality, bespoke finishes more quickly and at a larger scale.”

The company previously used a Zünd G3 L-2500 cutter for small-format applications, but increasing demand for large-format textile signage prompted the need for a larger machine.

“Our existing cutter has served us well,” Mr Snell added. “However, we needed greater flexibility and capacity to manage larger jobs efficiently. The 3XL-2500 provides that capability, and being able to interchange tools between both cutters helps us meet tight deadlines and diverse client requirements.”

ARC’s decision was also influenced by its long-standing relationship with Zünd. “Having first invested in Zünd technology in 2018, we were already familiar with the reliability, quality, and support the brand provides,” Mr Snell said. “We also use multiple Zünd cutters across our US operations – they’ve proven to be best-in-class.”

The additional capacity has enabled ARC UK to dedicate its original Zünd cutter to sustainable production, focusing on display stands and point-of-sale materials made from Xanita board, a lightweight and fully recyclable substrate supplied by Antalis.

“Our focus on bespoke, sustainable solutions continues to grow,” Mr Snell explained. “We’ve even created a dedicated customer experience room to showcase our work with Xanita, helping clients explore creative and environmentally responsible design options.”

Beyond cutting technology, ARC is developing other innovations such as magnetic soft box displays and interchangeable graphics through its Mag-Wall concept, offering clients a flexible way to refresh campaigns without replacing entire displays.

ARC UK operates as part of the global ARC network, which runs more than 140 service and production centres worldwide, supporting over 65,000 customers in 10,000+ locations. The UK division, based in Kent, offers a range of services including design, print, signage, and document scanning.
