Mimaki Europe has launched a new aqueous pigment ink, AP50, designed for use with its Tiger600-1800TS printer. The development extends Mimaki’s textile printing technology into the sign and graphics sector, offering a high-speed, high-quality, and environmentally responsible solution for out-of-home applications such as blueback and citylight posters.
When equipped with the new AP50 ink, the Tiger600-1800TS delivers print speeds of up to 220sqm/h with precise image quality supported by Mimaki’s proprietary image processing and transport control systems. The system allows users to produce high-volume advertising and display graphics with the reliability associated with the company’s textile platforms.
“Bringing the Tiger600-1800TS to sign graphics is a game-changer,” said Arjen Evertse, Director Sales, Mimaki Europe. “Recent trends in the out-of-home advertising sector show growing demand for regional customisation and smaller-scale campaigns. As printing volumes per design decrease, traditional offset printing becomes increasingly unfeasible – opening up new opportunities for digital print.”
The AP50 ink is designed for digital coated papers similar to those used in latex and solvent printing and is expected to achieve Greenguard Gold certification. It produces vivid, smudge-resistant images with strong red saturation for high-impact visuals.
Featuring 10kg CMYK ink tanks and a mini-jumbo roll system supporting media up to 300kg, the printer is optimised for long, continuous runs. Mimaki’s RasterLink7 RIP software with Ink Save Function and the PICT cloud-based monitoring tool help improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Mr Evertse added: “With the AP50 ink, we are combining Mimaki’s colour expertise with water-based innovation to support sustainable, high-speed poster production.”
The Tiger600-1800TS with AP50 ink will be available in limited quantities to early customers before its full commercial launch in February 2026. Mimaki is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Hybrid Services.
