Wembley-based commercial printer Apprintable has increased its production capacity and in-house efficiency with the installation of a Duplo DC-648 Multi Finisher and PFi DI-CUT 310 Rotary Die Cutter.
The business, founded by managing director Peter Haddad, had been facing growing pressure in its finishing department as demand continued to rise. “We had a huge bottleneck with our cutting table, and our old cutter creaser was on its last legs,” said Mr Haddad. “It was clear that to keep up with the influx of orders, we needed a more automated, efficient finishing solution.”

After visiting Duplo’s showroom and taking advice from its team, Apprintable invested in the two systems – a move that has doubled output, reduced outsourcing, and allowed the business to scale smoothly. “We doubled our order intake with only one increase in staff,” said Mr Haddad. “Without the DC-648’s efficiency, we would have needed one or two more staff members just to keep up.”
According to Duplo UK regional sales manager Lyle Rainey, “each investment marked a step toward faster turnaround, higher quality, and more autonomy. The DC-648 and PFi DI-CUT 310 immediately tackled the company’s pain points by streamlining multiple processes and bringing previously outsourced work in-house.”
The PFi DI-CUT 310 has proved particularly transformative. “The cutting table would take a month,” said Mr Haddad. “On the PFi 310, the same job takes four or five hours. What was once a production nightmare is now routine work.”
The company has also advanced its sustainability efforts, moving towards single-stream recycling for paper waste and maintaining 100% plastic-free packaging since 2018. “Print is renewable and paper is a renewable source,” added Mr Haddad. “With the right practices, a print business can be both profitable and planet-friendly.”
