Cameron Advertising (CAMAD) has become the first print service provider in North America to install the Onset Panthera flatbed printing system from Agfa.
The move continues CAMAD’s record of purchasing Agfa technology, following previous first-in-continent installations of the M-Press Tiger and Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS.
Facing growing substrate variability, CAMAD sought a solution that could deliver consistent quality on uneven surfaces. After visiting Agfa’s Belgium facility, the team selected the Panthera for its vacuum system, designed to stabilise warped media and ensure precision printing.
“The Panthera’s vacuum performance is a game-changer,” said Dan Deveau, owner of CAMAD. “It’s faster, more robust, and handles the inconsistencies common in our market. Using LED inks, it also consumes less energy and ink, aligning with our customers’ sustainability goals.”
The Onset Panthera FB3216 delivers speeds up to 16,297sqft/hr and features a dual-stage LED curing system that cuts energy use by up to 60% compared to previous models. Its heavy-duty design supports 24/7 production, and automation options such as autoloading and robotic unloading improve efficiency.
Replacing an older press, the Panthera will boost CAMAD’s productivity and expand its capacity to handle a range of materials, from corrugated board to rigid plastics.
“This machine closes the gap for us,” Mr Deveau added. “It relieves pressure on our screen-printing department, keeps up with our 20% annual growth, and positions us for further expansion.”
