Scodix has announced that its upcoming software update will incorporate Adobe’s PDF Print Engine, the raster image processor (RIP) technology used widely across the printing industry.
The integration is designed to improve speed, stability, and compatibility for users of the company’s Ultra 6500 SHD and Ultra 2500 SHD digital enhancement presses.
The move builds on Scodix’s Smart High-Definition (SHD) and Multi-Layer Embellishment (MLE) technologies, which allow for fine detailing, tactile effects, and large-area foiling. The addition of Adobe’s PDF Print Engine will reduce RIP processing times by up to 40%, according to the Scodix, while ensuring consistent and accurate print reproduction.
Eli Grinberg, CEO of Scodix, said: “Our RIP update isn’t just about speed; it’s about providing our customers with the most robust, reliable, and future-proof digital enhancement solution on the market. The integration of Adobe’s cutting-edge PDF Print Engine technology underscores our dedication to delivering industry-leading performance and exceptional print quality.”
Mike Scrutton, director of print technologies and strategy at Adobe, added: “Scodix embellishment increases engagement levels with the intended audience and amplifies margins for commercial printers. So, we are very happy that Scodix will be integrating Adobe PDF Print Engine into its workflow. Scodix customers will be delighted with the reliability, performance and sheer power.”
Scodix said the update will be rolled out rapidly to customers worldwide, strengthening its Ultra series offering across commercial print, web-to-print, publishing and packaging applications. The company, which has more than 400 customers globally, describes the move as part of its wider strategy to deliver sustainable and innovative embellishment solutions.
