Creative and print agency Indigo Ross has expanded its in-house digital print capacity with the installation of a Fujifilm Revoria EC2100S 5UPER Colour press, allowing the company to take on complex, high-impact jobs that previously required outsourcing to lithographic printers.

The new five-colour digital press, installed at Indigo Ross’s Suffolk facility, enables the team to handle a wider range of colour-critical work in-house, including projects requiring specific Pantone shades and vibrant custom colours.

“When it came to choosing a new press, the Revoria EC2100S just made sense for us,” said Phil Roper, managing director at Indigo Ross. “The fact that it’s a five-colour model really sets it apart – that fifth colour capability is a game changer for the type of work we can now produce ourselves.”

Founded in 1995, Indigo Ross employs 14 staff and generates approximately £1.2 million in annual turnover, offering design, print, and web services to clients across multiple sectors.

Mr Roper highlighted a recent project that demonstrated the benefits of the new press: “We had a 116-page job for a trade client, featuring a vivid Pantone 1505 orange. The turnaround time was tight, and previously we would’ve outsourced it to a litho printer. But with the Revoria’s fifth colour station, we hit that colour in-house, on time. That simply wouldn’t have been possible before.”

By producing these high-value jobs internally, Indigo Ross gains both creative flexibility and financial advantages.

“Having that extended colour gamut means we’re not limited creatively,” Mr Roper said. “It also improves our margins because we’re no longer paying a third party to do work that we can now handle ourselves. Ultimately, nobody wants to outsource work if they don’t have to – that’s the bottom line.”

Fujifilm UK, which launched the Revoria EC2100S earlier this year, describes the installation as a milestone in the UK market.

“Indigo Ross is one of the first companies in the UK to install the Revoria EC2100S 5UPER Colour press,” said Spencer Green, head of POD sales UK at Fujifilm. “It’s a great example of how this technology is helping print businesses bring more jobs in-house and explore new creative opportunities.”

Mr Roper added that the investment also positions the company for future growth: “We’ve only just scratched the surface of what the machine can do. As we explore its automation features further, we expect to increase efficiency even more. It’s good to know we’ve got a press that can grow with us.”
