Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C84hc has become the only high chroma toner system currently on the market to receive the FograCert Validation Printing System (VPS) certification. The recognition means all of the company’s current colour production systems are now Fogra certified.
Fogra is a German research institute which certifies systems that meet stringent ISO standards. The C84hc passed tests with both Konica Minolta’s IC-609 controller and the EFI Fiery IC-317, with performance assessed across areas including PDF/X conformance, colour accuracy, permanence, repeatability, and rub resistance.
Launched in summer 2024, the 80ppm press uses Konica Minolta’s fifth-generation high chroma toner, which expands the colour gamut beyond standard CMYK, especially in light blue, green, pink, purple, and magenta. The company says this enables more accurate reproduction of RGB images and supports applications such as photo books, nature photography, brand-sensitive collateral, and web-to-print products.
Malcolm Smith, category manager for professional print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions, said: “The successful AccurioPress C84hc has already made a strong impression with its ability to deliver vibrant, high-impact colour that meets the creative demands of today’s market. This Fogra certification is a powerful endorsement – not just of the technology, but of the consistent quality and reliability our customers expect.”
