XDP Digital, a commercial print business based in Christchurch, has become the first company in the UK to install Fujifilm’s new Revoria Press SC285S. The investment marks a step forward in the company’s efforts to expand its in-house capabilities and offer more creative options to its clients.
Founded over 20 years ago, XDP Digital has grown from a small operation with a single printer to a full-service commercial print provider. The company serves both local businesses and national clients across a range of sectors.
Director of XDP Digital Robert Jupp said the decision to invest in the new press was driven by the need to meet growing demand for distinctive and high-impact print. “We’ve always aimed to do as much as possible in-house for our clients,” he said. “But we recognised the need to offer something new, especially as more customers are asking for standout design and print features.”
A key factor in the decision was the press’s fifth colour capability, which allows the use of metallic, pink, white, and clear toners. This expands the creative range for marketing teams and designers without the need for specialist finishes or outsourcing.
Early feedback from clients has been positive, particularly for work produced for garden centres and retail clients, with interest in the metallic and pink tones. According to Mr Jupp, “It’s allowed us to offer premium-looking results without significantly increasing costs or turnaround times.”
XDP Digital explored several options before selecting the Revoria Press SC285S. Mr Jupp noted Fujifilm’s supportive approach during the decision-making and installation process as a factor in the partnership.
The company is now considering further investment, including the Revoria E1 Series, to support high-volume monochrome printing and potential expansion into the publishing sector.
Spencer Green, head of POD at Fujifilm UK, welcomed the partnership. “We’re pleased to see XDP Digital become the first UK customer for this press,” he said. “The Revoria SC285S was designed to deliver creative flexibility and cost efficiency, and we’re excited to see how XDP uses these capabilities to grow its offering.”
The new press has been in operation for several months, and XDP Digital reports that it is already helping them attract new business and better serve existing clients.
