Essex-based signage and graphic design company, Universal Graphix, has invested in a Jetrix LXa5 flatbed printer from InkTec Europe. The purchase was driven by a desire to meet increased demand, maintain high-quality standards, and streamline production processes.
The acquisition of the Jetrix LXa5 is the company’s second flatbed machine. Scott Blanche, studio manager at Universal Graphix, said it was important that the company found a machine which produced high quality prints as well as helping to streamline its production process. He added: “Since having the machine, we have been impressed with the print quality and have been able to produce some precise and clear samples to showcase to customers. The machine has also improved efficiency within the production room. The ink is of good quality, prints well, and adheres to materials effectively.”
The Jetrix LXa5 is a 2.5 x 1.3m LED UV flatbed printer developed to deliver a professional level of large format printing at an economical price. It offers photorealistic printing with Konica Minolta 6PL printheads delivering high resolution printing capabilities. With print speeds up to 37sqm/hr it achieves a maximum resolution of 1440 x 726dpi and takes media up to 100mm thick. The machine also has pneumatic pin registration for fast and accurate media placement and an anti-crash system to protect print heads.
Julian Mennell, hardware sales manager at InkTec Europe, commented: “It’s been fantastic working with Universal Graphix on the installation of their Jetrix LXa5. Their team’s creative output and attention to detail made them an ideal partner for this printer. We’re delighted to see how it’s already making a positive impact on their production efficiency and quality assurance.”
On top of the machine purchase, Universal Graphix has also started using some of InkTec’s alternative inks in one of their other wide format printers.
