South Wales sign-making company CS-Promotions has installed a new JWEI JCUT-2131 digital cutting system, supplied by CMYUK. This investment has allowed the family-run business to bring its cutting capabilities in-house, reducing turnaround times, improving productivity, and unlocking new revenue opportunities.

“We’ve been looking to invest in a digital cutting solution for a while, as we were outsourcing a lot of our finishing work,” said CS-Promotions founder, Paul Carey. A visit to CMYUK’s Shrewsbury showroom convinced him the JWEI was the right fit. “We were immediately impressed by the cutting table’s capabilities,” he stated.

Previously, CS-Promotions had been outsourcing its cutting work, which involved costly and time-consuming travel. The JWEI’s cutting speed – up to a metre per second – has reduced turnaround times by up to 70%. This has allowed the business to take on more work while improving service delivery.

“It’s been transformative for our productivity and team morale,” added Mr Carey. “We’re able to complete projects faster and with less stress. Plus, reducing transportation has lowered our fuel use and carbon footprint.”

Beyond time savings, the JWEI’s toolset has opened doors to new markets. The company is now expanding into bespoke packaging and has begun producing LED and neon signage, both services that were previously outsourced. The machine’s advanced routing and polishing tools have also elevated the quality of the company’s output.

Mr Carey commented: “When clients come through the door and see the machine, they’re immediately impressed by its size and capabilities. It’s a real ‘wow’ factor that helps showcase our commitment to innovation and our ability to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge solutions.”

Looking ahead, CS-Promotions is considering the addition of a second JWEI system. “We should have done this sooner,” said Mr Carey. “It’s changed everything for us.”
