Tecnau has introduced its new guillotine Cutter c7, designed to integrate seamlessly with Horizon’s StitchLiner Mark V, folding machines, and other binding systems. The new solution is being supplied in the UK and Ireland exclusively by Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS).

The Cutter c7 is capable of running inline with a Horizon binding line, among other systems, to drive real-world productivity and the ability to handle fast-changing applications. The collaboration between Tecnau and Horizon highlights the growing demand for finishing solutions that combine flexibility, speed, and quality, said the company.

Jason Seaber, technical sales director at IFS, commented: “This is another great example of the versatility of Horizon solutions and their ability to seamlessly integrate with third party suppliers such as Tecnau. This enables busy production environments to introduce time and cost efficiencies without compromising on quality.”

The Cutter c7 has been developed specifically for modern colour inkjet finishing. It is capable of handling media from 60gsm to 400gsm, covering a broad spectrum of applications from lightweight booklets to premium postcards, brochures and photo products. Its maximum web width of 23ins ensures compatibility with a range of leading inkjet press outputs.

Key features include instant start/stop functionality for alignment with downstream processes, precision guillotine cutting for clean edges even on thick stock, and intelligent blank sheet separation. A touchscreen interface supports rapid job changeovers, while a larger waste bin helps minimise operator intervention.

According to Tecnau, the Cutter c7 offers a lower upfront cost and reduced maintenance compared to rotary systems, delivering a faster return on investment for commercial print environments of any scale.
