Konica Minolta has announced the official liquidation of its Chinese manufacturing subsidiary, Konica Minolta Business Technologies (WUXI) Co., Ltd. The decision marks the latest step in a restructuring process that was first announced in August 2024.

The closure is part of the company’s medium-term business plan. The decision was made with the intention of strengthening profitability and improving supply chain agility across its digital workplace and professional print operations.

Production at the Wuxi facility ceased at the end of February after a review of manufacturing operations in Asia, which focused on stable supply and production efficiency. The company said the site’s liquidation is a natural conclusion to that review process.

Konica Minolta WUXI was established in December 2004 and was based in the Jiangsu Province in China. The facility manufactured and sold products for the company’s business technologies segment.

The move is projected to incur a loss of approximately ¥6 billion. Completion of the liquidation process is expected by the middle of the 2026 financial year.
