The German MOHR range of guillotines are now distributed in the UK by Watkiss Automation Sales. These join the existing range of finishing systems either built or distributed by Watkiss, including collating, booklet making and perfect binding equipment.
MOHR guillotines are made by Adolf Mohr Maschinenfabrik, which for decades has been producing high speed guillotines that are sold worldwide under the brand name POLAR-Mohr. Heidelberg has long been the distributor for POLAR-Mohr and will remain so. However in April Mohr announced that it was looking for a second distribution channel to address the print on demand market, for which it is using the MOHR brand name. It introduced its first MOHR machines at drupe in May.
Paul Attew, sales director at Watkiss, said: ‘MOHR are an established brand representing quality, reliability and safety. We know there is a demand for solid, well made equipment that is intrinsically accurate, to satisfy the needs of the discerning digital printer. We are very pleased to add this product to our portfolio – it is a brand and company that we trust to meet our customers’ expectations. It is also good match for our own-manufactured products.’
The range includes guillotines in three different sizes: 56 cm, 66 cm and 80 cm; each of which is available in two different versions. All feature a wide range of programming options, easy knife changing, a machine frame with optimised stability to maximize cutting precision and Direct Positioning System for cutting accuracy.
The ECO models are robust, programmable cutters with hydraulic drive and a 5.5 inch monochrome display. The NET models are designed for integration into a digital workflow, with 18.5 inch touch-screen display, barcode reader, Compucut (which generates cutting programs automatically from prepress data) and process visualisation.
Mr Attew dded: ‘We are looking forward to great success with this product. We already have considerable interest from our customers. Naturally we will be supporting the product with factory trained service support engineers and will have a machine available for demonstration in our showroom.
