Billingham Press in the Tees Valley has installed a Shuttleworth MIS. The company has a mix of digital and offset presses and serves design agencies, print buyers, local authorities and private businesses.
The company needed a fully integrated MIS for all its estimating, job management and stock ordering systems. It chose Shuttleworth’s combined system, which avoids the need for manual data entry at every level from quote to production, right through to the stock controls.
Ian Dodds,managing director of Billingham Press said: ‘Like any printer, changing systems is a big investment, especially in time. The work involved is already paying dividends and the rewards will be great; just having the information to hand will help us to manage the business more effectively. We are particularly excited about the Estimating Wizard package with drag and drop functionality for enquiries, as most of our requests for quotation come from emails.’
The company installed a Ricoh C901 sheetfed digital colour press earlier this year. It also has a manroland 500 B2 four-colour offset press and a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM52 five-colour B3 press.
