A high speed office printer based on Memjet inkjet heads ad technology was announced in London last week. The Lomond EvoJet 2 prints full bleed A4 colour pages at a rate of one per second (ie 60 ppm).
A print contract will be offered to businesses on a monthly ‘all-in’ basis. Users just put in paper and print. Lomond supplies the printer, the ink and the services to keep it running. This new pricing model allows business owners to print 100% colour, while maintaining a fixed budget for printing
costs, with no surprise bills to account for at the end of a month, the company said.
Lomond was established in 1996 as a paper manufacturer targeting the developing markets of the CIS and Eastern Europe. In early 2011 it has announced a partnership with Memjet to bring the first Memjet-powered office printer to European customers. Today the range includes two single function printers and an MFP. The printers are sold through local distributors and dealers.
Bill McGlynn, president of Memjet Office, said: ‘We are embarking on something totally new here – enabling businesses of all sizes to introduce fleets of Lomond EvoJet 2 devices on a unique ‘all-inclusive’ print contract that allows affordable colour print. In the same way the mobile industry promotes all-you-can-eat data, we see the end-user adopting a future mind-set of enjoying unlimited colour prints, at no extra cost to their monthly fee.’
