London based repro and digital printing house Altaimage has bought a Mohr 66 guillotine to pre-cut SRA2 sheets down to a smaller size prior to printing on its SRA3 format Ricoh Pro C651EX digital presses.
Mohr is a new brand created by the German manufacturer Polar-Mohr, concentrating on smller formats and particularly targeted at digital print use. The cutter was supplied by Renz UK, which was appointed a UK distributor at drupa in May. This was the first sale of a Mohr 66 in the UK, though Renz has already supplied 56 and 80 cm models.
Managing director Rob King said that the company was were looking for a ‘clean and precise cut’, and this was one of the main reasons for making the purchase of the machine. It replaces an Ideal Digi Cut. Prior to buying the Mohr guillotine the larger sheet sizes were cut by hand.
