CRI Digital, a Derbyshire printer that joined forces earlier this year with litho printer Stirland Paterson, has installed a Renz DTP 340m heavy-duty desktop punching machine and an ECL 360 electric closing machine, to accompany its recently installed Xeikon 6000 digital press.
Previously the companies outsourced all wire binding to local print finishers, but wanted to bring these jobs in house to give more flexibility and achieve a quicker turnaround for their customers, It found the Renz DTP 340M and ECL 360 fitted in well with its existing print finishing equipment.
Colin Davies, managing director of CRI Digital said: ‘We are very happy with our new Renz machines. When Paul came and demonstrated the machines I could see instantly that they were heavy duty and reliable machines; everything you would expect from a German manufacturer. We previously outsourced all our wire binding but now we have full quality control in house and therefore a much quicker turnaround for our customers.
‘We have already recouped our costs from the initial purchase and foresee the Renz machines as adding another profitable line to our business in the future.’
