A new job enquiry of presentation folders and slip cases has moved Printscene into taking on two new Fastbind finishing units from Ashgate.
Ashgate recommended two table top units; the Fotomount H46 Pro casemaker and the FotoMount F42 binding machine.
The casemaker can produce professional tailor-made hard cover cases from CD size up to 1040 x 1040 mm in a matter of minutes with digitally printed covers if required. It can also make personalised ring binders up to A3 portrait and landscape format. It also includes an adjustable edge folding unit.
The F42 binding machine binds the personalised hardcovers produced on the CaseMatic, which the company bought previously. It binds both digital and photographic paper.
Managing director, Stephen Ball, said ‘Although our initial requirement was to win the new contract, the Fastbind equipment is very versatile and we are a very versatile company. It will add a new product offering to the wide array of print services that we already offer our customers. We looked to the future, also purchasing the ‘lay flat’ Fotomount F42. It makes books which open flat with an edge-to-edge panoramic view on each page. This will help us when we target the premium end of the market with a range of bespoke books, albums and presentation folders.’
