A small French printing company found itself in the middle of a global news story as the two suspected Charlie Hebdo killers holed up in the business premises.

The suspected murderers used Création Tendance Découverte, a small printing business based in Dammartin en Goele, north east of Paris, to hold a member of the public hostage.

Here the police made contact with the two suspects, who were quoted as saying they were ‘prepared to die through martyrdom.’

88,000 police and security forces were mobilised across the country as the hunt for the killers entered its third day. French police said they created a ‘ring of steel’ around the Création Tendance Découverte premises using the help of four helicopters.

The seige lasted until late in the afternoon when counter terrorism police stormed the building, killing the two gunmen. The hostage was found unharmed.
