Always keen to have a go at trying new things Prince Charles took a turn on using a replica of an early printing press at the St Bride’s Foundation.
Learning about newspapers rather than appearing in one, the Prince of Wales used the replica hand-built press, based on an etching by Albrecht Dürer, to create his own print of an alphabet sampler.
The press is a refined version of the one believed to have been used by Johann Gutenberg to print his famous Bible launching the first media revolution over 500 years ago.
The Duchess of Cornwall also tried her hand using the printing press and embossed the word Tara, the name of her late brother Mark Shand’s elephant, onto a book.
