Digital print manager, Chris Page, next to the new Xerox iGen 150 press
Marstan Press has made a major investment into its digital print offering with the purchase of a Xerox iGen 150 and a Xerox Versant 2100.
The iGen 150 XXL comes with the unique ability to print on a 364 mm x 660 mm sheet. This allows for the economic production of short run A4+ folders, A4 landscape booklets and A4 six page folded leaflets, which would previously have been produced using the litho print process due to size constraints.
This latest investment provides a step-up in quality compared to the older presses that were replaced. The investment was necessary to allow the company to increase its capacity to meet customers’ demands for very quick turnarounds.
The new presses are set to provide numerous benefits to the company and to its customers. Printing 150 A4 sides per minute the iGen 150 is twice as fast as the previous presses.
Digital print manager, Chris Page, said, ‘The machine has only been installed for two weeks, but we are all amazed by how much work it can get through and the quality is very impressive.’
The new deal with Xerox will actually reduce the company’s monthly costs whilst providing the added capabilities. Along with the speed and the new size format, the iGen 150 can also handle a broader range of stocks, including window graphics, magnets, the FunFlip marketing product, transparencies and the Neva Tear non-rippable material. The iGen 150 also utilises Xerox’s matt-dry ink which produces a litho-like finish.
