Leeds-based Aura Print has taken delivery of a new Roland Soljet Pro 4 XF-640 wide format inkjet printer, replacing its older RS-640 machine.
Knick-named ‘The beast’, the Soljet Pro 4 XF-640 features dual print heads that are positioned in a staggered formation to maximize productivity. This design allows the press to achieve a maximum speed of 102 msq/h staggered head configuration for banner printing.
Running since 2007 the company runs as an online business working nationally with jobs being sent out across the country. The company has invested heavily into its website and SEO and has seen this paid dividends via the large amount of work generated online.
‘Everything is designed bespoke for our clients, there are now design templates on our website, we don’t want people to find it to hard or boring and then leave our website’ said director, Liam Smith.
Now the company has three wide format units now including Roland’s ‘Beast’ module and also offers a trade print service with the Roland AJ 1000. ‘We use the 1000 to supply to other print houses. As its so wide not many other printers have that capability, so we banners etc to them as a trade service,’ Mr Smith added.
The company started out life with one Konica Minolta printer and as business picked up the company invested in another. However the most impressive change came after the company realised that its customers had a demand for wide format print. In reaction to this it invested in a wide format printer, which lead to the company doubling its turnover.
