Willsons Group Services has eliminated outsourcing costs and expanded its laminating service following its investment in a DIGIFAV B2 PRO laminator from Terry Cooper Services.
The ultra-compact DIGIFAV series is capable of speeds up to 4000 sheets an hour or 30 m/min. It offers a greater format size of 530 x 750 mm and a lower working temperature that is 15% less than the DIGIFAV B2. The flexible DIGIFAV B2 PRO ensures consistent quality and significantly reduces waste
Phil Swanwick, said, ‘We had an older laminator and orders were increasing. The result was we were sending more jobs out which was costing more money and taking longer in turnaround times. We needed a system that could keep the work inhouse and that allowed us to offer lamination more frequently on B2 sheets.’
He continued, ‘We prepare a long run of rules and regulations every six months and the covers are always laminated. The Bagel will help with increased speed of production of those. We also do a lot of business cards and we would normally produce those in batches with matt lamination on both sides. This is much faster now too.’
He added, ‘We offer lamination as a value added service as it gives print a longer shelf life. We produce a lot of safety and information posters for Network Rail and Center Parcs and by adding the lamination gives them longevity.’
