CDi Yorkshire teamed up with the BPIF to host an early Yorkshire Day 2015 event on the 31 July 2015 at the Digital Garage from Google located at the Leeds Dock. 

The crowd was filled with 90 influential people from the print, creative and digital industries, including Stephen Gilbert, chief executive of The Printing Charity and the master of the Stationers’ Company, Helen Esmonde.

Charles Jarrold, CEO of the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) introduced the event with an enlightening message on how the print industry and creative and digital industries are thriving and working together as a cohort to evolve.

Patrick Collister, head of design at Google NACE, was the key speaker for the event. In his presentation he discussed his inspirations, the new rules of communication, how digital doesn’t mean the end of print and how marketing has been completely inverted in the last ten years.

Robert McClements, chief executive of CDi Yorkshire concluded the event by the discussing the positive strides that have been made in the region to develop and support the ever growing print, creative and digital sectors. He explained the intention of CDi Yorkshire ‘an initiative to inform and support Creative and Digital companies in Yorkshire’. CDi Yorkshire is supporting the LEP (Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership), also the promotion of Leeds as ‘Data City’. Robert encouraged support from industry leaders and issued an appreciative thanks for their attendance.
