Xante has updated its digital colour Ilumina Heavyweight Champion to include a CTP system that allows users to print on versatile Myriad 2 polyester plates.
These plate making capabilities are contained entirely inside of the press, and produce higher quality offset printing plates by eliminating background toning.
PlateMaker 7 will be included in the iQueue XI Workflow, the newest version of Xante’s iQueue Workflow series. The unit remains fully equipped with the original ultra-thick printing capabilities on a wide array of media including letterhead, envelopes, NCR, extra thick card stocks, product packaging, POP displays, table tents, door hangers, menu and oversized banners. The PlateMaker 7 capabilities will be offered as a free upgrade to all existing users.
The press uses four colour digital LED printhead technology to print up to 50 pages/min at a resolution of 2400 dpi and features a straight media path design that allow users to feed extra heavy card stocks up to 500 gsm (24 pt), textured stocks, most pre die-cut / perforated and even embossed blanks.
