East Sussex-based digital print company, Elephant Print and Display, has added to its finishing capacity with the purchase and installation of a Matrix 370P laminator from Vivid Laminating Systems.
The machine is quicker than the previous version by up to 40% and the extra pressure generated by the compressor ensures an exceptional bond between the film and material, minimising silvering. The system also allows for metallic and clear foiling.
Due to its speed, the Matrix Pneumatic enables printers to laminate work even faster to get the job finished and back to the customer. Its key features include anti-curl technology and a semi-automatic feed as well as an automatic separator.
The company currently operates two digital presses along with two large format printers, as well as having a wide range of finishing equipment for both large and small format print work. The purchase of the new laminator has coincided with an increase in turnover for the company.
Speaking about the purchase of the new laminator and the enhancement to their finishing options, managing director, Jason Gadd stated, ‘The requirement for laminating has increased year on year and is still a popular finish on a lot of our work. The increase in speed was a factor with this purchase, but ultimately we are interested in achieving the best possible finish, the foiling option is also a bonus.’
Mr Gadd added, ‘We have used Vivid for a number of years and their products and service has always been excellent.’
