A British team has won the Le Mans After Party Tour endurance rally in a Lancia Delta covered in branding printed on a Jetrix printer using InkTec inks and media.

Competing under the name “Maztini” (an amalgamation of Mazda and Martini), Adam Drury from InkTec and the rest of his team drove 2700 miles across Europe in 10 days. The route took in six mountain passes, a stop-off at the Le Mans 24 Hours race in France and three laps of Germany’s famous Nurburgring. Five teams took part, with all vehicles under £250 and with a valid MOT, though one was left behind in Germany due to a snapped cambelt.

Over the course of the rally, competitors took part in 18 challenges, and Maztini won four of them: “Cheapest car”; “Top speed percentage compared to that stated by the manufacturer”; “Most people in car” and “Best Decoration”.

The uniqueness of the vehicle graphics contributed to the team’s success and they won by 27 points, having clinched the lead in one of the last few challenges.

‘It was quite a trip and the 32-year-old car didn’t even break down once!’ said Mr Drury. ‘After weather testing the sponsor logos – which had been printed by Jetrix – for a period of time, the ink hadn’t deteriorated and that is why we were impressed and wanted to use them. Many thanks to InkTec for the support; the car looked tremendous and it made many people notice it.’
