Skandacor has introduced the FINISHpro 3D 2436, a new spot UV varnish printer that expands its digital embellishment portfolio with support for larger-format sheets.
Building on the existing FINISHpro 3D 1623, the new model increases the maximum sheet size to 36.22 x 24.41 inches, enabling print businesses to produce dimensional spot UV, raised textures and high-gloss effects on larger applications. The company says the machine is aimed at work including packaging, point-of-purchase displays, stationery and other specialty print applications.
According to Skandacor, the FINISHpro 3D 2436 has been developed to provide a more accessible route into larger-format embellishment, allowing print providers to produce more premium work in-house while maintaining a straightforward production workflow.

The 2436 answers that need by giving shops the ability to embellish B2 sheets and larger formats in-house. It gives shops the flexibility to begin packaging, point-of-view, and other high-value work without adding unnecessary complexity.”

The FINISHpro 3D 2436 incorporates automatic paper loading and unloading, while a CCD camera-assisted registration system provides alignment accuracy of at least 0.2mm. Skandacor says the system can complete a 12 x 18-inch sheet in around 40 seconds when applying a 40-micron varnish layer.
The new press is also designed to integrate with the company’s wider finishing portfolio. It can be combined with Skandacor’s LAMpro laminating systems and SLEEKpro digital foiling equipment, allowing print businesses to carry out lamination, digital foiling and dimensional embellishment within a single finishing workflow.
