Roland Hill, the inventor of one-way vision window graphics and founder of Contra Vision, has stepped down as chairman of the business and taken on the new role of founder and non-executive director.
Mr Hill founded Contra Vision in 1985 after a career as a structural and civil engineer. He developed what the company describes as the world’s first commercially viable one-way vision graphics technology, supported by more than 20 patented inventions. The technology allows graphics to be displayed on one side of a window while maintaining visibility from the other and has since become widely used across advertising, transport, retail and architectural applications.
According to Contra Vision, Mr Hill has spent the past four decades developing the products, manufacturing methods and commercial frameworks that established one-way vision as a recognised technology worldwide. Today, perforated window graphics and other see-through visual communication solutions based on his inventions are produced and used globally.
Commenting on the transition, Mr Hill said: “It has been an honour to lead Contra Vision and see the business grow from an idea into a global brand. I am proud that my legacy will remain as Contra Vision, and I am excited to see the next stage of the company’s development. I look forward to continuing to support the business in my new capacity as non-executive director.”
Roger Hill will assume the role of chairman while continuing as chief executive officer.

His work has not only shaped Contra Vision into a globally recognised brand but has also defined and influenced the industry as we know it today.
