Lawrence Green, managing director of Greens the Signmakers, has been elected to the Council of the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA). Mr Green is the third generation of his family to hold a leadership role within the organisation.

The appointment was confirmed at the BSGA’s 48th Annual General Meeting in June 2026. Founded in 1977, the association represents companies across the UK sign, display and graphics sector, promoting best practice, providing guidance and training, and representing the interests of the industry.

Mr Green’s appointment continues a long-standing family connection with the association. In 1985, Greens founder Reginald Green served as national president of the then British Sign Association, while his son, Chris Green, later became Northern President during his tenure as managing director of the business.

Mr Green has supported the BSGA for more than a decade, contributing to its media activity, speaking on panels at Sign & Digital UK and promoting the association’s work. Following his election to Council, he is also set to join the BSGA Board of Directors.

“I was really honoured to be asked to be a part of the BSGA Council,” said Mr Green. “I’ve seen and heard stories about the association throughout its whole life, and like all things, it has had its varying periods of strength and growth. It’s clear to see all of the association’s efforts and the results they have achieved in recent years, so it’s fantastic to be part of this journey and to continue that growth to support the industry, its members, as well as all end users of the signage produced by our industry.”

Based in Hull, Greens the Signmakers designs, manufactures and installs signage for national multi-site rollouts and rebranding projects.
