Online print company WTTB has reported a surge in demand for promotional materials following England’s early morning World Cup victory against Mexico. Hospitality venues in particular are seeking printed products ahead of the team’s next match against Norway.
The company said it received numerous enquiries on the morning from businesses looking to capitalise on interest in the tournament by promoting their venues for match screenings.
To support customers working to tight deadlines, WTTB is offering a range of products including PVC banners, Foamex boards, magnetic van signs and paper clappers. It is also making a selection of England-themed design templates available, allowing businesses to add their own branding before production.
According to the company, orders placed within the required timescales can be delivered in time for Saturday’s fixture.
“Even before the World Cup began, we were in the grip of football fever,” said Emma Thompson, head of marketing at WTTB. “With so many fan zones popping up and bars and pubs wanting to entice fans to watch the games at their establishment, we were inundated with requests for football branded materials.”
She added: “Now that England are doing so well there are even more places wanting to get in on the action – and we’re all geared up to help them to do that.”
WTTB said hospitality businesses are increasingly using printed graphics and promotional products to attract customers during major sporting events, with paper clappers proving particularly popular alongside larger-format signage.
Ms Thompson added that smart venue owners were looking at ways to entice fans into their space, which is why eye-catching artwork and the noisy but fun clappers have been in such demand.
“The whole country wants to be in on the action, and this offers a great opportunity for pubs, clubs and bars – in fact any hospitality venue – to really market themselves,” she said. “And while football is of course the main sport on everyone’s mind, it’s worth bearing in mind that this kind of collateral is great for any sporting occasion.”
