The new range aims to address a common challenge within the AEC sector, where rapidly evolving digital plans can become disconnected from static paper drawings. According to HP, this can result in version mismatches that contribute to errors, delays, rework and additional costs.

Central to the launch is the HP DesignJet T2600 MFP Plus Edition Build Connected Printer, which HP says is the first multifunction printer capable of connecting paper drawings directly into HP Build Workspace cloud workflows. The system enables users to scan, share, manage and collaborate on drawings through a single platform, while QR-linked version control helps keep printed plans aligned with the latest digital versions.

“The future of large-format printing is connected, intelligent, and built around how work actually happens today,” said Daniel Martinez, senior vice president and division president, HP Large Format Printing. “With the new HP DesignJet T1600 & T2600 Plus Edition Printer series, we are helping AEC teams work more efficiently and effectively by connecting print workflows with the digital tools they already rely on every day across the office and jobsite.”

The printers also include an AI-enabled scan-to-vectorise capability that can convert raster drawings into editable CAD files. HP says the feature can reduce drafting time by up to 80%, helping users accelerate revisions and streamline design processes.

Additional workflow enhancements include updates to HP Click software and HP Click Driver, intended to simplify PDF printing by allowing users to preview files, identify print issues and manage print settings through a more intuitive interface.

For enterprise environments, the printers offer print speeds of up to 180 D-size prints per hour, automatic stacking for up to 100 pages, dual-roll functionality on selected models and Adobe PDF Print Engine technology.

Security features include HP Wolf Pro Security, incorporating user authentication, firmware validation, HP Secure Boot and encryption technologies including TLS 1.3 and IPsec to help protect devices and documents.

HP will showcase the new printers at the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 in Barcelona.
