Printing United Alliance has launched an online AI Readiness Benchmark designed to help print and packaging companies assess how prepared they are to apply artificial intelligence within real-world workflows.

The tool follows the soft launch of Printing AI at Printing United Expo 2025 in Orlando, where attendees engaged with AI-focused education sessions and demonstrations in the show’s Printing AI Pavilion.

According to the Alliance, the benchmark provides a high-level view of an organisation’s AI maturity and preparedness. It is intended to help companies evaluate where AI may affect operations, workflows and financial performance, while also identifying potential risks, governance considerations and next steps.

The benchmark is positioned as an initial reference point before organisations invest in tools, platforms or new AI initiatives. It highlights where AI may offer practical value, where it may introduce risk, and where further readiness is required.

The launch forms part of the Alliance’s wider Printing AI programme, which includes a newsletter, AI-focused iLearning+ courses and research reports, webinars, and in-person education at events and summits.

Amy Servi-Bonner, vice president, Consulting – Applied AI & Printing Technology, Printing United Alliance, said: “As AI adoption continues to evolve, the Alliance remains committed to helping the industry lead by providing the insight, education, and structure companies need to integrate AI responsibly and profitably. The AI Readiness Benchmark is now available online and serves as a foundational step for organizations seeking to understand their readiness and chart a clear, confident path forward. We look forward to working with our members to further their AI journey in the way that makes most sense within their unique business operations.”

Printing United Alliance describes itself as a member-based association serving the printing and graphic arts industry across North America, providing education, training, research, standards certification and industry events, including Printing United Expo.
