The BPIF has announced the shortlist for the British Book Design & Production Awards 2025, following what it described as a strong level of entries from publishers and printers across the UK.

Organised by the British Printing Industries Federation, the British Book Design & Production Awards  shortlist was selected by a panel of judges drawn from across creative design, print, publishing, and production. According to the organisers, judges noted an exceptionally high standard of entries across all categories, reflecting continued innovation and attention to detail in book design and production.

The awards span a broad range of categories, from fine binding, finishing and print production through to trade, educational, lifestyle and children’s publishing. Alongside 18 category winners, one overall Book of the Year will be selected from the shortlisted titles.

The awards also include a dedicated Student Category, aimed at supporting emerging talent. The winning student will receive £500 and a short internship with a designer, publisher or printer, offering practical industry experience alongside formal education.

Commenting on the shortlist, Meeka Walwyn-Lewis, head of marketing & operations at the BPIF, said: “Congratulations to all the companies that have made the BBDPA shortlist. It is incredible to see so many amazing books being shortlisted for this year’s awards. The sheer amount and fantastic standard of entries we received shows that book design and print production is inspirational, innovative and aspirational – a sector of the industry that is making major waves and continues to thrive. I look forward to celebrating the sector and all its achievements at the awards in April.”

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on14 April 2026, which will take place at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. The event will bring together designers, publishers, printers, and clients from across the industry to celebrate the shortlisted work.

The BPIF has thanked this year’s sponsors, including Canon, Diamond Print Services, Muller Martini, Northend, the Printing Charity, and Winter & Company, along with media partners Oxford Brookes University and The Bookseller. The full shortlist is available on the awards website.
