Antalis has launched Sintrex, a new expanded rigid PET printing sheet, in the UK and Ireland with immediate availability. The product has been developed using manufacturing technology from 3A Composites and is aimed at the sign and display, large-format print, and exhibition markets.

According to Antalis, Sintrex has been designed to combine lightweight handling with strong technical performance, offering an alternative rigid substrate for both indoor and outdoor applications. The material is manufactured from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and features natural white surfaces intended to support consistent colour reproduction across a range of printing processes, including digital and screen printing.

The sheet’s rigid yet lightweight structure is intended to support faster processing and easier handling in production environments. Antalis says this makes it suitable for applications such as printed signage, point-of-sale displays, exhibition graphics, and show construction. In addition to print performance, Sintrex can be cut, milled, folded, bent, and thermoformed, and is also suitable for laminating, painting, and gluing, giving it flexibility across a range of fabrication and finishing workflows.

Sintrex is available in 5mm and 10mm thicknesses, with sheet sizes of 1220 x 2440mm and 2030 x 3050mm. Fire performance is positioned as a key feature, with the material achieving EN 13501-1 classifications of B-s1, d0 for the 5mm sheet and B-s2, d0 for the 10mm sheet. These ratings are particularly relevant for use in retail environments, public buildings, and exhibition spaces, where compliance with fire regulations is critical.

Sustainability is also highlighted as part of the product’s positioning. PET is widely recyclable and can be reprocessed multiple times, which Antalis says supports customers looking to make more sustainable material choices without compromising performance.

“Sintrex has been developed with the needs of printers and sign-makers in mind,” said Paul Neale, product manager at Antalis. “It offers an excellent balance of print quality, lightweight handling and fire performance, giving our customers a versatile new option for indoor and outdoor signage, display and exhibition applications.”
