(L-R) Printed Easy’s Arida, Egle, John and Andy with Renz UK’s Dermot Callaghan

A triple investment in Renz solutions has brought wire binding in house at PrintedEasy.com (previously Falkland Press). The company picked an AP360 high-speed automatic punching system, a MOBI 500 ring wire binding solution and a Punch 500 ES.

The investment supports the operation’s growing online business for saddle stitched, perfect bound and wiro bound brochure printing alongside 16 other core products. The company runs a Heidelberg SpeedMaster XL 106, two B2 HP Indigo 12000s and an HP Indigo 7900, alongside a diverse range of finishing equipment.

John Ellis, finishing manager, explained, ‘We plan to use the new equipment to increase our volumes across wire bound documents and calendars, and to remove the seasonal bottleneck we experience for calendar products during the October/November period.

‘Faster turnarounds and more options are the two requests we receive most often, so this is another way for us to continue giving our customers what they want. Our autonomy is what allows us to maintain the quality of our products and to keep prices competitive. Bringing wire binding in house is going to help us continue to achieve this.’

‘We expect to start seeing a return on investment within the next six to eight months,’ said Mr Ellis. ‘Renz machines are simple to use and to install, which made them instantly appealing. They provide the level of speed and efficiency that we are looking for, and don’t require much maintenance, so they’re an excellent long-term option, as well as giving us immediate benefits. We’ve relaunched three of our products since the new equipment was installed, and all of them are growing rapidly. Because we’ve taken away that manual labour element, we have increased our staffing resources while simultaneously reducing our outsourcing costs.’

He concluded, ‘Renz’s reputation is second to none and that’s what attracted us. Their communication throughout the sales process was fantastic – we couldn’t have chosen a better supplier to work with.’
