Proofing to the Fogra PSD digital print standard is now supported

GMG’s ProofControl software now supports the Fogra PSD digital output standard and enables individual print standard templates to be created in order to fine-tune the proof verification process.

The newly-released version 2.4 of GMG ProofControl allows proof verification to either internationally agreed standards such as ISO 12647-7:2016 (which deals with proofing from digital artwork) and Fogra PSD (process standard for digital production) 2016 or to user-defined standards, particularly useful in packaging print.

GMG product manager Jens Bloeck explained: ‘We are meeting industry demands with the support of the digital standard Fogra; process stability and quality assurance are playing an increasingly important role in digital printing.’

GMG ProofControl can be used to import and verify control strips for print standards. If the proof corresponds to the target values, then a label is printed out as a seal of approval and is attached to the proof which can then serve as a legally binding basis for an order.
